About this fashion designer The luxury of a history made of leather jewels The Morellato & Sector Group is today a solid and extraordinarily growing reality, ready to open up new horizons and to measure up with the giants of the international market. The Group is a huge success that could not have occurred without a history of creativity, engagement, changes, risks, and great achievements. Step by step, it has accumulated this patrimony of expertise, thanks to the intelligence and the strong will of three generations of entrepreneurs, and thanks also to the precious experience of numerous men and women, who have always assured high-quality manpower. This long history includes the origins and the evolution of the watchband, a product of the great Italian leather-working tradition. Founded in 1930, Morellato was the first real company to produce watchbands in Europe, thanks to the intuition of its ingenious and skilled pioneer, Giulio Morellato. Born within a family of shoe- and watchmakers, Giulio Morellato has always worked with great passion in the leather industry, giving each watchband the special value, care, and expertise that come from his ancient family tradition. Around the time of World War II, Morellato transformed his craftsman shop into a factory and employed about a hundred workers, who manufactured luxurious leather creations. It was around this time that he started his important collaboration with the actual President Mr. Silvano Carraro (father of Massimo, actual CEO), who quickly conquered the heart of Giulio Morellato and who shortly after took the company into his own hands and launched it into the European market. After this change in leadership, the new plant in Fratte di Santa Giustina in Colle started the production of watchbands at the beginning of 1964. The company went through decades of sustained growth. Beginning in 1990, a year of vital importance, because my family took over the business, we entered a period of even more dramatic growth. What happened after that is recent history, during which we became a great Group, able to stand the challenge of the global market, but leaving our DNA unadulterated.
